Just a few hundred meters from Lake Mývatn, the campsite is ideally located for those wanting to experience the area's unique nature and attractions. Many of the region’s most famous sites, such as Dimmuborgir Lava Fields and the Mývatn Nature Baths, are only a short drive away. A hiking trail leading up to Hverfjall Volcano and Grotagja Cave starts right next to the campsite, making it a perfect base for outdoor enthusiasts.
Facilities
The campsite is open all year round, offers great facilities to ensure a comfortable stay in any season. Guests have access to a heated indoor kitchen and dining area, free Wi-Fi, and hot showers at no extra cost. The campsite provides spaces for tents, campervans, and motorhomes, with electric hookups available. Travelers with RVs can also use the black water disposal station and refill clean drinking water.
Self check in
Checking in is simple with the self-check-in system. Guests can easily pay for their stay by scanning the QR code placed on the information sign at the campsite entrance and in the facility house. Additionally, a campsite employee is always available by phone and ready to assist guests.
Services
Daddi’s Pizza is located right next to the campsite, a popular restaurant known for its delicious pizzas made with high-quality Icelandic ingredients such as smoked trout from Lake Mývatn and Icelandic lamb. Guests staying at the campsite receive a 15% discount on pizzas from the menu, making it an excellent place to relax and enjoy a meal after a day of exploring.
For travelers in need of laundry services, Vogar Travel Service offers a convenient solution. The service includes washing, drying and folding for a price of 4.750 kr per 6kg load. The service is usually completed within 24 hours, and for those in need of a faster turnaround, special arrangements can be made upon request.
The Honesty Souvenir Store is open 24/7, offering unique local gifts, handmade items, and souvenirs. Simply choose what you like and follow the payment instructions inside the store.
Pricing
Guests pay per person, with additional fees for tents, campervans, and motorhomes, while children under 14 stay for free. Electricity is available at an extra charge. A special offer allows guests who stay for three consecutive nights to enjoy the fourth night free of charge.
