About Kirkjubær Campsite
Kirkjubær Campsite & Cottages is a large, well-located campsite in Kirkjubæjarklaustur, midway between Reykjavík and Höfn on Iceland’s stunning South Coast. We welcome tents, campervans, motorhomes and offer cozy cabins (bookable in advance via Airbnb) — perfect for families or travelers who want the comfort of indoor sleeping.
Our spacious campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis (no advance booking for campsites). Facilities include toilets, showers, a shared kitchen and dining area, and laundry services, everything you need for a comfortable stay. From here, you can easily explore famous attractions like Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon, Eldhraun lava field and the many wonders of Vatnajökull National Park.
