About Hengifoss
The campsite at Hengifoss offers good facilities including toilets, showers and kitchen facilities. Electric hookups are available. The site is in a peaceful setting near Lake Lagarfljót.
Hengifoss is the third tallest waterfall in Iceland (128 m) and is within hiking distance from the campsite. The waterfall is known for its distinctive red clay layers visible in the surrounding rock face. On the way up you can also see Litlanesfoss, surrounded by beautiful basalt columns.
Hallormsstaðaskógur, Icelands largest forest, is a short drive away and offers a variety of hiking trails.
