Hallormsstaðaskógur
In Hallormsstaður National Forest there are two campsites: Atlavík and Höfðavík. Höfðavík can be booked in advance, while Atlavík can only be booked on site.
About Hallormsstaðaskógur
Hallormsstaður National Forest is considered one of the largest forests in the country and offers visitors diverse landscapes along Lake Lagarfljót. It features marked hiking trails, a family-friendly arboretum, a frisbee golf course, and cycling paths. This protected area, which became Iceland’s first national forest in 1905, is a popular outdoor recreation site all year round where both tourists and locals can enjoy tranquility, nature, and outdoor activities.
In Höfðavík there are three toilet facility buildings with showers and both hot and cold running water. Facilities include an area for dishwashing, a disposal point for portable toilets, accessible toilets for people with disabilities, outdoor grills, tables and chairs, as well as a playground and a jumping pillow. In Höfðavík there are also electrical hookups for motorhomes and caravans.
In Atlavík there are two toilet facility with hot and cold running water, washing machines, and dryers. There are two showers in area L, as well as facilities for dishwashing, a disposal point for portable toilets, accessible toilets for people with disabilities, outdoor grills, tables and chairs, and a playground.

Area B is pre-bookable online and is divided into spots, each camping unit gets an assigned spot. Some of the spots have electricity. There are 22 spots with electricity and 4 without.
Area B+ (large spots)

Area B+ is pre-bookable online and is divided into spots, each camping unit gets an assigned spot. The spots are extra large and all have electricity. We charge extra for large spots.
Area E
Area E is pre-bookable online and is divided into spots, each camping unit gets an assigned spot. Some of the spots have electricity. There are 5 spots with electricity and 8 without.
